Evening Art Sessions – Still Life

Square Works has teamed up with Our Creative Community to make art classes accessible to as many people as possible, no matter what their background or ability.

  • February 17, 2022
    6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

When you join an arts class you will be amazed what you can achieve in a short period of time, and how much you can learn from seeing fellow learners using their creativity. You will not need to bring any materials to the session as all equipment will be provided for you!

What’s this art club’s mission? Inclusion by design. Square Works has teamed up with Our Creative Community to make art classes accessible to as many people as possible, no matter what their background or ability. Every fortnight will explore a different skill in-depth, before shifting its focus onto an exciting new area. We all have a creative side, whether or not we choose to engage with it. This is a chance to reconnect with this part of ourselves and enjoy some playful explorations.

We can provide you with an A3 sketchbook for £3 (provided at no profit), or you are very welcome to bring along your own.

In this week’s session we will be focusing on: Still Life

The practice of still life develops and strengthens your natural level of drawing ability. It improves your observation and rendering of shape, tone, color, pattern and texture in a range of different media. You also learn a lot about composition – the interaction of positive and negative space.

Coming up later in the course:
