We are delighted to have the privilege of hosting ‘WILDTHING’, a new exhibition by world renowned artist Jim Starr, celebrating 25 years of creativity.

You’re invited to join us from 5pm-8pm on Tuesday 3rd June 2025 at The Square Club to be the amongst the first to view Starr’s new exhibition.

You’ll be greeted with a complimentary arrival drink, and will be able to enjoy live demonstrations from Starr as he works on his latest masterpiece. The evening will be filled with creativity, and the opportunity to meet some like-minded creative individuals.

There will be exclusive opportunities to purchases artwork, along with some limited edition prints.

We will be serving dinner in our The Square Club restaurant throughout the evening, for those wishing to reserve a table, you can do so here.

Our cocktail bar and terrace will be open for those wanting to enjoy drinks until late.

About the artist

Born in Truro, Cornwall in 1976, Jim Starr was awarded an art scholarship to Millfield School, where his early talent was recognised with the Times and Sunday Times Gold Award for Artistic Merit at the 1995 Independent Education Art Exhibition, held at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London.

He went on to study a foundation course at Chelsea College of Art before completing a degree in Illustration at Kingston University. From 2000 to 2007, he worked as a freelance illustrator and printmaker, represented by Debut Art in London. His work has been exhibited extensively across the UK and internationally, including in Paris, Rome, Venice, New York, Chicago, Palm Beach, Tokyo, Singapore, and Chengdu as part of a collaboration with BVLGARI.

A lifelong ornithologist and wildlife enthusiast, he has participated in expeditions to the Himalayas (Pakistan, 1993), the Rockies (Montana, USA, 1994), Svalbard (Arctic Norway, 1996), Lesotho (South Africa, 1998), and Iceland (2004). A passionate traveller, he has also explored The Gambia, Norway, the Canary Islands, the Maldives, much of Europe, and most recently, Canada.

His work is currently represented in the UK by The Rountree Tryon Gallery (London and Petworth) and The Paragon Gallery (Cheltenham), and in the United States by Cross Gate Gallery in Lexington, Kentucky, and The Vertical Gallery in Chicago. Jim currently lives and works in Exmoor in North Devon.
