Back by popular demand, Self Defence classes with Karate Black Belt, Pete Read are back, and as a full four-week course.

You hope it won’t happen! But if it does – you’ll be ready. And the benefits of self-defence training go well beyond being able to repel an attacker: self-confidence, resilience, reduced anxiety, greater fitness and general health… to name a few.

Sanchin Self Defence is based on traditional Goju-ryu Karate. Sanchin means “three battles” in Japanese – Body, Mind and Spirit.

Body: Stability, movement, escapes, strikes, throws and vital points
Mind: Awareness, avoidance, decision-making and communication
Spirit: Breathing, inner strength, self-belief, focus and resilience

This is a full four-week course, running from 18:30 to 20:00 on the 7th, 14th &21st of June, with the last session of the 5th of July.

The sessions will last 1.5 hours, and are open to both Square members and the public too, all genders, all ages (18+), any fitness level. Please wear clothing you can move around in, and trainers. No jewellery (small earrings are OK).
